About This Spot

Stepping into Raz Mexican Food in Apple Valley feels like finding a quietly vibrant gem tucked just off the beaten path. The gentle hum of conversations blends effortlessly with the warm California sun filtering through patio umbrellas, inviting both locals and travelers to slow down and savor a genuine moment away from the everyday rush. There’s a subtle, unhurried rhythm here—the kind that comes from folks who know their neighborhood and their food well.

This is a casually lively spot where the focus rests on flavors that comfort as much as they excite. Whether you settle into a shaded table outside or grab a hearty bite to go, the atmosphere carries a relaxed warmth that feels inviting and familiar. The wait might sometimes stretch a little longer during busy moments, hinting at the care and dedication behind each meal rather than any rush to turn tables.

The food at Raz unfolds like a story told through vibrant ingredients and hearty, soulful combinations. Patrons often find themselves drawn to moments rich with deep, slow-cooked Birria, or the fresh charm of handmade sopes and warming plates of Carne Asada. Mornings bring their own unique appeal, with breakfast burritos and dishes that fuel the day ahead in a way that’s both satisfying and homey. Weekends carry a special draw, where the menudoelevates the communal dining experience to something a little more ritual, a subtle nod to tradition within a humble setting.

What shines through beyond the food is the sense of care embedded in the service—a team aware of regulars and newcomers alike, sharing quiet smiles and steady attentiveness even amid a steady flow of orders. It’s a place that encourages you to soak in the moment, whether you’re seated beneath a canopy of sun or packing up a generous portion for the next leg of your journey. Here, Mexican cuisine becomes less about flash and more about a quiet celebration of craftsmanship, connection, and place.

Along the way through the back way to Big Bear I bumped into this place and got me a large brick size Chorizo Burrito. Was really big that I only ate 3/4 of it. A beautiful patio with umbrellas was optional to eat at, but I was taking it to go. Great place to try, available parking and handicap space available.

Been here multiple times and food is always fire, prob the best Mexican food in the high desert. Best menudo ever!! I think only served on the weekends. I’ve gotten there late and it’s been sold out so they recommended me the birria tacos and they were soooo good. I’ve also tried their chilaquiles verdes with asada very bomb and another favorite of mine is their pollo Burritos!

The food was really good and definitely worth it! We did have to wait about 40 minutes for our order, but I really enjoyed it. I recommend coming earlier since they may have limited stock and availability. The wait was a little frustrating, but I understand they might have limited staff. Ambience was ok. Overall, the food was pretty good.

New to Apple Valley, Needless to say, I was not disappointed. The food is amazing. I tried the Carne Asada, El Pastore Pollo street Tacos, Birria Tacos,& Sopes. Really good flavor served hot with onion, cilantro, and salsa. Customer service was spot on!! Clean Restaurant Highly Recommended
